Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.
These three athletes have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The champion will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.
The show will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"To be named a finalist for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
